What you actually get.
Illustration is the work I keep going back to. It's where my hand shows up most directly — sketching people on Rosebank College tutorials, drawing the bathroom signage at Argility, custom marks for Mosotho. Stylised, on-brand, original.
I work in a flat geometric style with bold colour and confident line — not photo-realistic, not airy-light, somewhere with character. If you need a different style (woodcut, watercolour, hyper-real), I can recommend specialists.
A typical illustration project from me includes:
- Concept sketches — two stylistic directions before any final art
- Final illustration — production-ready vector art in the chosen style
- Two revision rounds — usually composition, then detail
- Vector files — Illustrator AI + SVG for scalable use
- Raster exports — PNG at multiple sizes for digital use
- Print-ready file — if the illustration is for print, CMYK with bleed
How we get there.
Illustration moves fast once style is locked.
- Brief — what it's for, where it lives, references
- Sketch — two rough directions, pencil-style
- Refine — chosen direction taken to final line work
- Colour — palette applied, last details
- Polish — second revision round, final tweaks
- Export — all formats delivered
What it doesn't include.
Things I don't include:
- Hyper-realistic or photo-real illustration — that's a different specialty
- Animation — illustrated motion is a Motion project, quoted separately
- Character licensing — illustrations are for your use; resale or licensing rights are separate
- Source psd files — for unfinished sketches; I deliver final files only
Who this is for.
This works for products, packaging, editorial illustration, custom marks, environmental art. If you need illustrations for a children's book, an album cover, a mural, or product packaging — this is where to start.
Pricing is project-based, not per-illustration, because complexity varies wildly. A single spot illustration is quick; a packaging suite with eight illustrations is its own thing. Send the brief; I'll quote.
